The Clown's Return

Ko te Rahina 25 O Te Here - Turi - Koka Tenei Ra

When Rachel was younger, she was really scared of clowns. Only because when she was younger a clown tried to kill her and her family, until the police arrived. As they dragged the criminal he said in a raspy voice, ‘It’s not over’. Ever since then Rachel stayed as far as she could away from clowns.

“Mum guess what?” asked Angelica (Rachel’s 6 yr old daughter).
“What?” Her mother politely answered.
“Our school is going on a trip to the circus tonight.” said Angelica.
“Honey, you’ve told me a million times - Don’t forget to give your permission slip okay. Be careful and stay next to the teachers at all times.” said Rachel, with a neverous look on her face.
Angelica hopped out of the car and ran to class. As Rachel was driving home, she noticed a homeless man on the side of the road, hold a can halfway filled with spare change. Being a caring and loving person she jumped out of her car and gave him her spare $2.30. “Thank you dear” Said the man.
“No worries” Answered Rachel. As she turned to hop into the car, the man whispered,
‘It’s not over.’
“Pardon?” Said Rachel. The man was gone.

“Sorry I’m late, Mrs Gates.”
“It’s ok Angelica. Are you ready?”
“Yes Miss.” answered Angelica.
The class ran into the bus and sat with their classmates. Angelica was a quiet person, so she sat by herself. “Hey Angelica, why are you by yourself?” said Ainsley. “Because she’s a loser!” yelled out one of her friends. Most of the girls on the bus laughed but some didn’t take any notice. Angelica wanted to bawl her eyes out, but also wanted the girls to think she’s strong and decided not to. The children of room 3 sat down on their seats and waited for the show to start. The kids laughed and screamed in excitement and roared as 10 clowns exited

The kids were already to hop onto the bus until they realised, two people were missing. Angelica and Ainsley. “Mrs Gates? Are you here?” As Angelica walked through a big hall, her feet echoed. “It’s not over.” The voice was heard as if it were so close. As Angelica walked through the dim alley, she saw a light at the end. The closer she got, the further the end of the alley went. “HELP! HELP ME!” Angelica recognised that voice. It was Ainsley. Angelica could’ve turned away and left to find another way out but she didn’t. She decided that she wanted to help her. For some reason, the screams were intriguing to Angelica and decided to follow. The screams go closer until Angelica got to a dark door. “Hello?” Whispered Angelica. The light flickered on and a snicker was heard. In the corner of the room crept a clown, with a smile as wide as a banana and teeth as pointy as a sharks. “Hehehehehehe.” The Clown snickered with a grin. “What do you want?” Said Angelica. She wanted to shout it out but her voice only came out with a whisper. Ainsley came out of the corner and hugged Angelica. “Help me. He wants to take me away.” Ainsley whispered into her ear. “Dont’ listen to her.” The clown said. “Come with me and we can be friends forever.” Yelled the clown. Angelica had to make a decision. She could could befriend the clown and kill her school bully or run away with Ainsley and risk her life. As Angelica opened her mouth to talk, everything went pitch black.

A Day At MERC

IMG_1071.JPG
The excitement I held inside me  built up and instinctively I knew it would soon burst out. Leanne led the group of year 8’s to the wetsuit room and gave everyone the size she thought would fit them. “When you have been given your wetsuit, please go to the toilets, get changed and meet us outside,” yelled Leanne as her voice trailed off into the distance. The Year 8’s gathered together, and each grabbed a paddle, and followed Vicky and Leanne to the edge of the water. “So your right hand is glued to the paddle and the left hand flicks back.”

As Leanne explained, everyone followed. When we had learnt this technique, everyone picked a kayak to use and put their paddle in. Agnes and I carried our Kayaks to the edge of the water and put it into the shallow part, waiting for Leanne and Vicky to let us start our session. The cold water trickled down the back of my legs, as my kayak laid on top of the waters surface. I squealed in excitement and waited as the rest of the group led the their kayaks into the water.

“If you want, you can try and kneel in your kayak” said Vicky. Obviously I didn’t want to fall out of my kayak, so I decided to just sit. The peaceful sound of chattering and laughs was soon ruined by a terrible scream. I turned to see Asia standing in the water, attempting to hop back in her boat. To make things worse, people kept shouting out “Stingray!”. After many attempts I decided she needed help so I made my way to her kayak and held one side down on the water, while she jumped on from the opposite side. “Thank you Darrelle” Asia replied, as the salt water dripped down her face.

By now I was very sure everyone was tired and hungry. By the time we had put the paddles and kayaks back on shore, it was time for morning tea. We spent the rest of the day shooting colourful balloons and stepping on ticklish seaweed. As the the sun slowly hid behind the clouds, the intermediate students from Saint Patrick’s school had finished their enjoyable day at MERC Camp.

The Marshmallow Challenge!

Today in kidpreneur every group did the marshmallow challenge. . After we got into our small groups, we all built different types of towers made from spaghetti sticks, scissors, tape and string. There was a lot of collaboration and everyone was anxious and frustrated, from their tower falling. At the end, when we were finished, we put the marshmallow on top and made sure it wouldn't fall.

Dehnyse and I were partners, so we had to decide how many.We chose 4 drops for the red and 3 drops for the blue. Our ratio is 4:3.

Ear - Splitting Scream

“Hey, Christina, do you want some help with that?” Yelled out Ash.

“No, it’s okay, I’m nearly finished anyway.” Answered Christina. Ash and his newly wedded wife wanted to celebrate, so they decided to go camping. As they drove to the Grasslands camping grounds, a bucket of rain fell from the sky and smashed against the windscreen of the car. “Where did all that come from?” asked Christina.
“Mother nature I guess” Answered Ash. He quickly hit the brakes as he saw a figure on the road. “Oh My Gosh!” Yelled Christina. Ash jumped out of the car, only to find nothing but stones. “Ther - there was something out there. I know there was.” Whispered Ash.

Christina and Ash set up their tent, and beds. “Where should we hike first?” Asked Christina. Ash was still in shock but didn’t want to scare his wife so he kept it a secret.
“Why don’t we hike up that mountain over there first, then see how we feel?” Answered Ash. “Okay, I’ll bring the camera to take pictures.” The married couple hiked up the mountain for a good half hour, when suddenly Ash came to a stop. “Why di-” said Christina.
“Ssshhhhhh” Whispered Ash. “Do you hear that?” A deafening scream was heard from miles away. Christina wanted to scream in horror but didn’t want to frighten Ash. The screaming stopped after a while and a car was heard leaving. Christina was taking pictures when Ash said “We need to get back to camp as fast as we can.” Christina nodded and they ran off.

When they had gotten back they hopped into the tent and went to sleep. Christina was awoken by the sound of rain hitting the roof of the tent. She decided to go outside and see if any of the other campers were awake. The camp looked dead and lifeless. All the tents were soaked from the gusts of wind and rain. She heard a rumbling in the trees. “Who’s there?” Christina felt confident but her voice came out as a whisper. She heard a flash then someone ran away. She checked the bushes and found her camera. She looked at pictures she took and dropped it. While she was looking through their photos she saw pictures of Ash and Christina. Sleeping.

Information About Dogs

Dogs

There are different types of dogs in this world. Some can be pets but other’s maybe strays. Some people let their dogs sleep at the end of their beds but others usually make them sleep in their living room or even outside in a kennel. There are approximately ten groups of dogs in this world.

Dogs love to play games with you (if they are friendly), but other dogs just like to relax and lie down. In my opinion I like little dogs because they don’t get in the way like big dogs do. Another favourite is furry dogs, because they have soft, ticklish fur.
