Chinese Lesson For You

Mother's Day 2013

Sunday was a special day because it was 2013 Mother’s day. The first thing I did on Sunday was go with my dad to his mum’s house to give her the present. My dad got her some Belgian chocolate. She loved them! My dad and his mum started to talk for a very long time then she asked my dad if he could take her to see HER mum. My dad replied “Okay”

So my dad drove us to the Otahuhu Burial Grounds. On the way there, my nana bought me a pie and a drink while she bought herself a cup of coffee. When we got to the burial ground we went to the grave and but a bouquet of flowers on her burial stone. We went across the road and went to see the catholic burial ground.

There was nothing much there so we dropped nana off at her house then went straight down to the Warehouse and I bought my mum’s  present. I bought her 2 pieces of wall art. They were lizards covered in jewels. That’s all that happened on Mother’s day. My mum really loved her presents. My nana really loved her presents, and i’m sure my great nana loved her presents too.

Last Day of Technicraft for Term One

Today at Technicraft we drew our animations on big pieces of wood. But I had to first finish off painting my miniature version. When that was done we  had to draw the animation on the big piece of wood. Then it was morning tea. we played at the exercise obstacle. Morning tea finished fast. As soon as we got back in class we    finished Drawing our animations on the wood then have had to show Mr Nair our drawings then go to the poker machine. The poker machine is a machine that produces fire. I started to trace over my animation with the poker machine. It took quite long  because it was the maximum version and not the miniature version. I was nearly done then Mr Nair said to put up the chairs because it is nearly time to come back to school. I took a glance at the clock and he was right! It seemed like just before it was morning tea. I never really got to paint my animation but at least I got to trace over my work. It turned out pretty good. We swept the floor and wiped the table. The last week of techni craft went fast and hectic.

Praying with a traditional Prayer

The Angelus Prayer is a traditional prayer that we pray to God. We take time out every Friday to recite this prayer at a set time.

My Easter Weekend

For the Easter Weekend I went to Rainbows End. I actually thought the place would be closed but it wasn't. I went with my dad and my friend Faith. As soon as we got there the lines were packed so Faith and I decided to eat our Easter eggs. To my surprise the line went fast and we were inside in a click. As soon as we all got in the first thing we did was go on the pirate ship (I know it sounds babyish but it was kind of cool).

When Faith and I went on she said “is this scary? does it hurt your stomach? i’m scared.” I just laughed. It started slow then it went higher then higher, higher, higher. faith was screaming and her face went green then she was about to vomit until the ride slowed down. She jumped straight off then headed for the Log Flume.

As soon as we went to the Log Flume we started to jump and jump because there was no one in the line. The lady said “please watch your feet and keep your hands and feet in at all times.” We just shrugged and hopped in the log. The log had handlebars on the side and seats for you to sit on. When you first move in the water you will come to a part where a floor type of thing will pull the log up and you will go into this part that looks like a cave then you will go in the cave. It smells like water and you can hear birds chirping and you will see a FAKE alligator. It is all dark inside so you can’t really see much.Then you get to the nature part and it’s all made of pretty much fake birds and trees and waterfalls. Then you come to the next part which is the part with pirate’s talking and rats crawling around and elves in traps. When this is finished it comes to the enchanted forest with elves jumping around and in little mushroom houses. After that you will come to a stop and and see a sign saying “pirates only do not cross” but your log does not stop it keeps going. The room will start to shine and a pirate king will be holding gold and his voice will be counting gold. Then your log will float into a calm stream then there will be a sign that says “hold on to your hats!” then your log goes down a big hill and a camera will take a picture of you.

As soon as that was over we headed for the Invader. The Invader is a ride that is shaped as an alien Invader. It will spin round and round then the ride will go up a hill then down then up and it will keep going until the ride stops. Faith and I started to jump and jump because there was also no one in the line. We sat on the seats then suddenly the ride started to move and We actually started to giggle. The ride was moving fast and Faith and I were the only people on the ride. Faith said “OH MY GOSH this is so fun!” The whole ride all we said was OH MY GOSH and laugh.

As soon as the ride was over we both met my dad at the food shops and bought hot chips with a hot dog and sauce.

Straight after lunch we went to the Gold Rush. We also jumped and jumped because there was also no one in the line. It was dark but funny because we couldn't stop laughing and screaming. The ride was over fast but the ride was fun. This time we walked to the next ride which was the roller coaster. We met there with my dad and he said “you ready girls for the big one!” and we just said OK! We sat on the seats on the ride and I started to cry because i wasn't ready for the roller coaster. The first time I went on the roller coaster I vomited because I went upside down and I didn't really like that. I thought it was time to face my fears so I went on. When we went upside down (which was most of the ride) I closed my eyes and I was safe! At the end of the day I slept over Faith’s house and we showed off how our day was in front of her family.
