Television Facts That You May Not Know

Television
When televisions were first made they had no colour, only black and white!
Television was not invented by a single inventor, instead many people working together and alone over the years contributed to the world of television. Television in New Zealand was introduced in 1960.

Television actually work by tricking our eyes and our brains! The screens show us many still images, like pictures. They change very quickly, often 30 times every second! That’s so fast that you’ll really miss some if you blink your eyes. With pictures moving so fast, and each picture being just a little bit different, our eyes are tricked into thinking we’re actually seeing something moving. We are really just seeing pictures changing really fast. Televisions offers the chance to take a break from our day. Watching television In the olden days requires the use of a remote. However nowadays we can just wave our hands and use our voice to control a 52 inch plasma flat screen television! The technical way of saying television is telecommunication medium.

These are all facts about television and how it has changed throughout the years. I hope you have enjoyed my report.

Scary Movie Night

On the 18th of May, I slept over at my friend’s house and we watched three scary movies, called ‘Haunting In Connecticut’, ‘The Devil inside’ and The ‘Devil’. ‘Haunting in Connecticut‘ is a movie about a boy who can see dead things and he has a lot of illusions. ‘The Devil inside’ is not really a scary movie, it’s just about scary little children chanting songs and dancing around. ‘Devil’ is about these people that gets stuck in an elevator and each time the lights go off someone dies.

The first movie we watched was Haunting in Connecticut. When the movie started it, a scary man’s face popped up on the screen. When the movie started Faith, Lita and I grabbed our pillows and blankets and laid on the mattress on the floor. We weren’t allowed to watch scary movies, but we did anyway. When the scary face came up, we were about to scream but we remembered not to scream otherwise we will be too loud.

The next movie we watched was ‘The Devil Inside’. The little children really freaked us out because we haven’t seen the movie before. We were just about to go to sleep when we heard a scream from the movie and Faith said that it was just from the movie. We all opened our eyes and started laughing so loud that Faith’s dad came in and told us to be quiet.

The final movie was ‘Devil’. We were wide awake now because of the scream, that Faith put on another movie ‘Devil’. We skipped the beginning because it was boring and went right to the part when the first person died. It wasn't that scary but when it came to the part with the old lady, we went under the blankets and started to giggle because we were so SCARED! It turned out Faith’s uncle was sitting behind us sleeping and my aunty was the one that screamed because she saw a rat outside! We laughed so much that my uncle told us to whisper otherwise we will have to go to bed.
